A Decline In This Site (read!)

OK, i've noticed a gradual decline in the quality of threads/members cropping up on GSF over the past 5 or so months. New threads are either teens, reposts, garbage or more alarmingly now.. phishing. A large majority of replies to posts are just insulting or retarded... thanking dead links, one word replies, or just no thanks whatsoever.

In my view, GSF is a great site for like minded people, and probably one of the best free mature forums online - with some pretty cool uploaders too. It's just lame how its becoming more diluted with idiots on a daily basis, a large majority joining only recently. I think the admins should be considering some of the following:


1. Restricted Community? Adminstator approval only? Invite only? - That maybe too drastic. In any case, I think you should be at least a member to view the forum.

2. Points based posting? - In order to access certain subforums you have to reach a criteria, achieved via some productive input into the site. (sharing pictures/movies/links)

3. Locking old posts?

4. Banning multi IP accounts, suspect details. - Should already be done realy... but phishers are getting through the net more frequently as of late.

I'm not going to push my mind on this subject... unless I see some kind of retort from people who are on the same wavelength, I trust there are. :confused:

As you may or may not know our regular mod Jerry has been out of the picture for some time due to a computer crash, hopefully when he returns he'll take you up on some of your suggestions, until then I don't think much will be done.

I agree with Yellar, until Jerry gets back this forum is vulnerable to all these spammers, phishers and teenie posters. But I think it is up to all of us members who appreciate this forum to be vigillant against these a**holes who keep ruining it for the rest of us!

Zoop is right, a lot of young stuff is being posted. Unfortunately I am not a whizz at I.T.and am struggling to post any stuff. I am also worried about the phishers and so any that are identified will help me to put on my ignore list. Jerry is missed and hopefully will be back soon.
Still think the established posters are providing some top grade stuff, Ismaele, Rue,pondlife etc need a vote of thanks from leechers like me.

too many '10 posters' copying old posts and taking credit..
uploading teen crap...
spamming etc..
anything admin do to stop these twats would help to keep this forum the way it should be.

That is exactly what I wanted to say. I report posts almost daily, trying to keep spammers and phishers from the site. I have the feeling I'm the only one doing that. If all regular posters just press the report button, this site will be clean. And if something has to change, we'd better wait for Jerry. He's been a supermod untill his pc crashed. Want to know his opinion on things like these...

I am on your wavelenght, anyway since we are true addicts its difficult to decline GSF for prolonged periods but I already stopped posting movies in here since about two months. I still come here though to see whats going on....:roll:
